Is a PGCE actually worth it, or should I opt for School-Based Training instead?

Choosing between a PGCE and direct school training depends entirely on the applicant's career goals and other factors. It is a key choice for aspiring tutors in the UK. More than 32K new tutors enter the profession in the UK every year. Moreover, both courses typically lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), which is essential to become a teacher in the UK and teach in state schools in England. They both include PGCE written assignments, but they differ significantly in experience requirements and credentialing.
